No Show & Cancellation Policy

Dear Valued Patient,

Patients who are not able to keep their appointments are asked to provide timely notice of cancellation prior to their appointment time.

Unfortunately, in recent years our "no-show" rate for appointments has significantly increased. This has created multiple challenges; but most importantly, it is compromising our ability to provide care to patients needing same-day appointments. This has been a hallmark of our practice, and we want to continue to be able to provide this service.

Therefore, effective October 1, 2013, Little Rock Family Practice will institute a formal policy regarding appointment cancellations and “no-shows”. A “no-show” is defined as a scheduled appointment that a patient does not keep or is rescheduled without appropriate notice, and will be charged to the patient’s account, as follows:

No Shows:

First Occurrence: A $25 fee will be charged
Second Occurrence: A $50 fee will be charged
Third and Subsequent Occurrences: A $100 fee will be charged

Cancellations:

Routine Appointments: (e.g. acute illness, blood pressure check, back pain, injuries, etc.) must be cancelled at least 4 hours before the scheduled appointment time. Any routine appointment cancelled less than 4 hours before the scheduled appointment time will be treated as a “no-show” and the above fees will apply. Because our phones are not staffed prior to 8:00 a.m., any appointment for the morning must be cancelled prior to 8:30 a.m.

Physicals, Procedures, Bone Densities, Ultrasounds, Stress Tests: Must be cancelled no less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time. Any of these types of appointments cancelled less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment time will be treated as “no-shows” and the above fees will apply. Patients who fail to pay the fees for missed appointments will not be allowed to schedule future appointments until the fee is paid.
